**Article 1**
The renter is deemed to have received the scooter in good condition. The renter is also deemed to return the scooter in good condition. Upon delivery of the scooter, instructions regarding its operation will be provided. By taking possession of the scooter, the renter acknowledges that they have received and understood these instructions.

**Article 2**
The renter declares that they have read and understood the rental terms and conditions. The renter must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid AM driver’s license or another legally equivalent driver’s license, as well as a valid form of identification. The renter must provide proof of identity, and a copy of the identification document will be retained by the lessor.

**Article 3**
During the rental period, the renter must comply with the laws and regulations of Bonaire. The renter is expected to use the scooter responsibly and comply with all rules concerning the use of alcohol and/or medication while operating the scooter.

**Article 4**
At the start of the rental period, the renter must pay the full rental amount, including the security deposit, either in cash or by electronic payment (SmartPin). If payment is made electronically, the security deposit will also be refunded via bank transfer.

**Article 5**
The scooters are covered by third-party liability insurance (WA insurance). A claim form will be provided upon delivery. Any deductible resulting from damage will be fully borne by the renter unless the deductible has been reduced through an excess waiver, in which case the minimum deductible shall be USD 175.00.

**Article 6**
Whenever the scooter is stopped or left unattended for an extended period (parked), it must be secured to a fixed object using the lock provided.

**Article 7**
The renter is liable for any damage resulting from theft, as well as any other damage, regardless of how it occurred or was caused, whether due to the actions of third parties or the renter. The lessor must be informed immediately of any damage, and the damage claim form must be completed truthfully and signed on-site by all involved parties. In the event of theft or loss, the renter is liable for the value of the scooter, being USD 3,000. The renter shall reimburse the lessor for all resulting repair and/or replacement costs. In the event of theft or loss, the renter is also required to file a police report and provide a copy of the report to the lessor.

**Article 8**
The scooter is rented entirely at the renter’s own risk. Little John Scooters shall not be liable for any form of damage suffered by the renter, third parties, or property during the rental period. Any traffic violations and resulting costs shall be the sole responsibility of the renter.

**Article 9**
The renter is not permitted to allow third parties to use the rented scooter or to sublease it. The renter may not transfer any rental rights to third parties.

**Article 10**
If the scooter is returned late, additional rental charges will apply. The fee is USD 25.00 per half hour and will be deducted directly from the security deposit. If the scooter is more than 24 hours overdue without notification from the renter to the lessor, a police report may be filed. Excessive tire wear caused by intentional misuse will be charged to the renter.

**Article 11**
If the scooter is returned before the agreed rental period has ended, no refund of the rental fee will be provided.

**Article 12**
Before the rental period begins, the renter must pay a security deposit of USD 300.00 per scooter. The deposit will be refunded provided the scooter is returned in the same condition as when it was rented out. Little John Scooters reserves the right to deduct any damage compensation from the deposit. If a group has paid multiple deposits, the total amount of all deposits paid by the group may be used, if necessary, to cover damages.

**Article 13**
The renter shall properly care for the scooter and use it solely for its intended purpose. Little John Scooters reserves the right to repossess the rented scooter in the event of suspected misuse, without any refund of the rental fee.

**Article 14**
The scooter must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If it is determined that the tank has not been refilled or has not been sufficiently refilled, a fee of USD 25.00 will be charged and deducted directly from the security deposit. By signing these terms and conditions, the renter acknowledges that they have been informed of and agree to these conditions.
