Kralendijk
Bonaire's lively capital: Caribbean architecture, the Kaya Grandi shopping streets and cruise ships at the piers. In Papiamentu they just call it Playa. We roll straight through the middle.

1000 Steps
The famous limestone staircase down to a coral beach, a legendary dive and snorkel spot. Spoiler: it's 67 steps, not 1000. Feels like 1000 on the way back up.

Karpata
Crystal-clear water, one of the island's favorite reefs, and the ruins of an old plantation right next door. Nature and history in one stop.

Gotomeer
A saltwater lagoon at the island's northern end, and the flamingos' favorite hangout. Bonaire is one of the few places on Earth where they nest. Viewpoints all along the road.

Cadushy Distillery

Rincon
The oldest village on Bonaire, founded by the Spanish in a valley to keep it hidden from pirates. The island's cultural heart, full of traditions and festivities.

Seru Largu
"Large hill". And the best panorama on the island: Kralendijk, the whole south side and Klein Bonaire at your feet. The Kristu monument on top reads "Kristu Ayera, Awe, Semper".

Salt Pier
A working salt pier that doubles as a world-class snorkel site: corals wrapped around the pillars, fish everywhere, sea turtles if you're lucky.

Slave Huts
Tiny stone huts from the island's colonial past, once quarters for enslaved workers of the salt flats. Around 30 still stand. Heavy history, important stop.

South Lighthouse
Willemstoren, Bonaire's oldest lighthouse (1837), out on the wild southern tip. Flamingos and wild donkeys included at no extra charge.
